The launch of Linemarks
The birth of a web app
This week saw the birth of the public beta of Linemarks. And also the birth of this, the official Linemarks blog! In this blog, we’ll keep everyone updated on what’s going on at Linemarks. So far, we have reached the first (of many) milestones – the process of going from idea over conception to launch. Working in this process, what keeps you going is really knowing that someday, every little thing that you are working on, will have an impact on your users. For that reason, being at this point, where users are signing up, adding bookmarks, and exploring the service, is incredibly exciting.
So what is it?
Many will ask, what is Linemarks, and yes, I’ll give you the short description right here: Linemarks is a simple and intuitive service that helps you saving and accessing your bookmarks in an easy way. It will will keep your bookmarks save and available from any computer or mobile device with internet access.
To use Linemarks, you add a small link to your browser bookmarks. Whenever you click this link, the Linemarks toolbar will pop out and you can add/find/explore bookmarks direct from your browser without navigating away from the website you are currently visiting. Bookmarks are added in Linemarks with just one click. Since your bookmarks are saved online, it doesn't matter where and how you are online - you always have your bookmarks ready at hand.
Having your own bookmarks is just one part of Linemarks – another great feature is “popular bookmarks”. Here, anonymous data is used to show you what's hot right now on the internet. Linemarks is simply the best place for storing your bookmarks on the net.
See it
We have made a small 1 minute presentation video which you can see on http://www.linemarks.com. It just shows the basics of how to use Linemarks. So, if you haven’t done so already, go to Linemarks, sign up, add it to your browser, and start playing around with your bookmarks!
